BMW recommends performing system navigation map updates at least once a year particularly for those who drive a long way very often.

Notice: Please be aware that to update your BMW Navigation Maps you may need an FSC activation code from which is not included in this purchase.

Installation: 

1. Format 32GB USB stick to the FAT32 file system.
2. Copy the map content to the USB flash drive.
3. Insert the USB stick into the car and follow the instructions (you may be asked to provide your FSC code during the installation process).

Not sure what type of maps your navigation system is compatible with? You can easily find out which map type you currently have by pressing the “Nav” button on iDrive, then select “Options”, and click “Navigation System Version” where you will see something like “BMW 1.5.20 Road Map Route 2021-1”. If you see the word “ROUTE” in your navigation map version, then this map is the right one.
